A Thousand Words - Photo 5

Photo 5: sometimes I feel like I live in California.  I took this photo on job site visit a few months ago.  I travel there every two - three weeks and I'm here again today.  I don't like being away from the hubby, but I guess it could be worse.

Pinterest - I did it - Menu Board

Yes, the blogging has been few and far between - but for good reason.  We bought a house and have also started a blog for it! 18 Preston.  AFTER you check out this post - there is a link to go on our house tour!

Pinterest - I did it! - Menu dry erase

This was incredibly easy - I did it after work.  I never do ANY projects start to finish after work.  It's a little hard when you work 7:30-6 everyday, and cook your wonderful hubby dinner (which is why we need this menu board)

And it cost me NOTHING!  That might be the best part?  I found a brand new, never opened, solid wood and glass picture frame from Pier One in the pile of crap craft stuff supplies my mom gave me.  I had spray paint left over from another project in the hammered metal color.  The scrapbook paper was in my stash, as were the round stickers.  Letters and lines were done by hand with a sharpie.  We have big plans in the kitchen for a feature wall - this will hang out there when everything else is done.

And now for the home tour - check it out! (and if you like what you see - follow along there as well.)

Support a Creative Woman

I saw this yesterday on Pinterest.  As I'm reading down I'm thinking "wow, a modern women is pretty awesome if you ask me."  Then I got to the bottom "pick any two," ha! Now that's more like it.

Do any of us really have a perfect little world all put together?  Are any of us getting it right?  Who decides what's right anyway?

Kori, a friend of mine is about to embark on an adventure of self discovery to reflect on  that very question: "what's right anyway?" She's planning a solo thru hike of the Appalachian Trail.  This is not for the faint of heart - or those that don't like to be alone for long periods of time.  I admire her strength.

I also admire her creativity.  Kori is a filmmaker and will be documenting her trip to produce film - Alpine Zone upon her return.  You really need to watch the trailer to see the significance: http://alpinezonefilm.wordpress.com/trailer/

Kori has been furiously raising the funding required for her trip.  She has only 4 days left and if you're interested in helping back her project you can help here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/628286646/alpine-zone
The film will only be funded if she reaches her $6,500 budget by the 15th - She's very close and if you can offer even a very small donation ($10) she'd appreciate it and will send you a post card!

The film website is www.alpinezonefilm.com if you're intrested in when the film comes up - and to follow her blog (which I hope she'll post on during her hike!)  Thanks in advance for helping her out! It's an amazingly creative film project!
